Definition

A combination of two drugs used to treat adults with certain types of follicular lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, or chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Rituximab binds to a protein called CD20, which is found on B cells (a type of white blood cell) and some types of cancer cells. This may help the immune system kill cancer cells. Hyaluronidase allows rituximab to be given by injection under the skin. Rituximab and hyaluronidase can be given in less time than rituximab alone, which is given as an infusion.
